Pottawatomie Lighthouse Rehab Project

In Spring of 2024, Friends of Rock Island were awarded a partial grant from Raibrook Foundation in Door County to tackle some needed upgrades at the lighthouse. Among other things, the refrigerator, the cook stove and the mattresses were all replaced in May 2024 by volunteers during the opening work weekend. Also included in this grant was funding for a comprehensive master plan and recommended maintenance schedule for the building, which will assist the friends group in continuing to care for this unique historical gem.
